All,
This is a top freezer model (some sites show it as a side-by-side). It is probably made by GE and definitely over 30 years old. It has two defrost thermostats (t-stats).
Each has a different part number/temperature range and I believe they were replacements:
WR50X129 (L50-30F) and WR50X130 (L63-35F)

The parts list states the original numbers were WR50X0105 AND WR50X0110. Temp ranges unknown. Both original part numbers are superseded by WR50X60 (L60-20F). The part numbers for the t-stats in there now have not been superseded. I'm not sure if I should go with what's already in there or replace with the superseded part number? Sears serviced it several times in the 1990s, including replacing the t-stats and defrost timer. It always cooled poorly. I suppose not seeing any posts regarding this model confirms that. At least it's been relegated as the basement/secondary fridge.

Anyway, it's not defrosting and I noticed the plastic (Bakelite?) tops of the thermostats are cracked/bulging/disintegrating. Didn't test the defrost heater yet or the defrost timer. Will do that at the next manual defrost. I appreciate the help.

Hi,

I found:

The manufacturer has replaced part number WR50X10 with this item, number WR50X60
The manufacturer has replaced part number WR50X11 with this item, number WR50X60
GE a lot of times drops the 0's.
