Unplug the machine and disconnect the water hoses. Lay the machine down on it's front. Remove the hose clamp and hose from the pump. Remove the three pump mounting screws. Remove the pump. Note the drain pump seals at two different spots on the tub so make sure both surfaces are clean when you reassemble it.

Thanks. Just retired my Magtag A501 after 33 years, tub rusted through. Been in cellar all that time. In an earlier post there was MVWC300 repair manual, looks close for major parts, different panel controls.

If I had an A501 I wouldn't get rid of it. I would periodically check with used appliance dealers/stores and let them know you're looking for a used tub. Those are good machines. Depending how bad the rust is, I've repaired many rust holes on those style tubs before. The worst spot is where the center seal is.

It's gone, never to be seen again. I did any work it needed, 1 water pump, some belts. It's was also about 100 lbs heavier than the new unit. New unit has 5 yr warranty for $99, hard to beat that. By the repair manual, 200 is easy to work on, I guess it has to be.
