    Default Maytag MBB2254GEW frost problem

    RepairClinic
    Hi guys,

Found this excellent forum after experiencing a frosting problem on my Maytag MBB2254GEW bottom freezer/refrigerator. I seem to have the classic problem described in many other posts, I removed the back panel in the freezer section and all the coils are frosted over. I defrosted with a hairdryer and let all the water drain into the pan at the back and 2 or 3 weeks later same problem. To start troubleshooting I have looked in ever conceivable place for the automatic defrost control to see if I can manually turn it on but I just cannot find it. Does anyone have any idea where it might be located?

I live in the islands and repair manuals/parts/information are hard to come by so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Marcus

Default Same coil frost over with MBB2256GEQ

I'm thinking the defrost timer on my fridge (mbb2256geq) is in the same location Jeff described for Marcus. I'm trying to remove the plastic cover that says Dual Cool on it, but can't find whats holding it on. Anyone know the secret.

    Thanks

    Default Remove the light diffuser

The defrost timer is located next to the light in the roof of the fridge, I had to remove the light diffuser - 1 screw - and if it's the same as mine you'll see it right there. The eventual fix for my problem was the thermostat located in the freezer section.
