Default FIXED: DBR453EA0WW Wont start -- not sure what else to check

    Model Number: DBR453EA0WW
    Brand: GE
    Age: More than 10 years

First post thanks all for any help -- My issue is with an older basic dryer, it won't start. I've tried:

    - Reset circuit breaker
    - start switch has continuity (replaced anyway, no luck)
    - door switch has continuity
    - operating thermostat has continuity

More info: when it first didn't start i was able to get it going by a combo of: rotating drum, opening/closing door, reseting breaker, rotating selector switches -- not sure which did it but this doesn't work anymore

    What else can I check?

Did you check the thermal fuse for continuity? Check the voltage at the power cord connection.

Was the motor humming when you rotated the drum? if so, that indicates your motor is the problem. I've done that rotating the drum many times when the motor hums and will not start, then when I rotate the drum it starts turning.

Here's the parts diagram for your model: Parts for GE DBR453EA0WW: Motor Parts
