Default NED4655EW1 Dryer not blowing out vent

    Model Number: NED4655EW1
    Brand: Amana
    Age: Less than 1 year

I had a ~10yr old electric dryer that stopped drying clothes and wasn't blowing air out the vent in the back. I didn't have time to mess with trying to fix it so I went and bought a new one. The new dryer was delivered yesterday & it isn't drying. I have the vent disconnected in the back & it is barely blowing out air. There is nothing stuck to the intake inside the barrel & the lint trap is clear. Its brand new but is having pretty much the same issue as the old one. What am I missing?

What brand and model number is your new one?

Has anyone checked your dryer power outlet to make sure your voltage isn't screwed up? Should be 220 to 240 volts.

I'd check for 220-240 volts at electrical outlet with your multimeter.

220-240 volt 3 prong power plug test for a dryer

220-240 volt 4 prong power plug test for a dryer

It is an Amana model# NED4655EW1

When I look through the vent in the back of the drum just below where the lint screen stops I can see some type of obstruction but I don't know how to get to it.

    Ok,

Since its under warranty don't try to take it apart, just contact Amana at (866) 616-2664 to have a tech come out for free and get that out for you.
