    Default LFC24786ST LG refrigerator chemicals

    Hello all,

My LG refrigerator Model LFC24786ST was just delivered. After the reading the manual, as advised, I have come across a rather concerning statement therein. A warning label is issued "This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling. (US Only)".

Why would LG manufacture products that inherently have harmful substances? This is very concerning, so I have contacted their support line and they said the appliance is 100% safe. I have tried to search about this, but to no avail. I guess that's because most people don't even read the manual, especially if their appliance is already installed, etc.

Does anyone have a take on this? Should I be worried? My apologies if this was posted in the wrong section!

    Thank you.
