Default HLT364XXQ Haier top load washer won't spin

    Model Number: HLT364XXQ
    Brand: other
    Age: 6-10 years

I put washer into spin mode. It goes through two rinse modes and then stops with an E3. During agitate mode the tub and impeller turn back and forth in opposite directions. When it tries to spin, I hear a click, followed by a "braking" sound, but the basket does nothing.

I laid it down, and saw that the drive mechanism has two shift levers. When I turn the pulley either direction, it "agitates" as I described above. When I pulled the rear lever and tried it, it does the same thing. When I pulled the front lever, I can only turn the pulley one direction.

If I pull both levers up and turn the pulley, the tub will rotate. When I put it in spin, both actuators pull up the two levers, but nothing else happens. It immediately releases the levers and goes into rinse mode.

Update: The documents are confusing, especially on the names of the parts. I finally discovered the unbalance switch (It's bad!), and I've ordered a new one.
