Model Number
665.13222N412
Brand
Sears Kenmore
Age
1-5 years
Had this dishwasher for a couple years with no problems.

Recently the start button wasn't consistent...had to hold it down for 3-4 seconds before it started.
Then the Control Lock light would repeatedly stay on, which I could turn off by holding down the Sani Rinse button.
I unplugged the unit for 30 minutes, which didn't resolve the issue.

Now the start button doesn't work at all.
I can feel the button depress, but no-go.
I tried time delay wash, but the washer didn't start after timer.

I have seen reset videos for a couple Kenmore dishwashers, but the buttons layout is different, so not applicable.

Question: what is the reset sequence for this Kenmore model #?
Is there anything different that I can try before ordering a replacement touch pad electronics?

Hi,

Lets run the SERVICE DIAGNOSTICS CYCLE, and let it run all the way through to reset it back to default.

Entry sequence: Press any 3 keys in the sequence 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3 with no more than 1 second between key presses. NOTE: Some models have replaced the “Clean” LED with “Completed.”
The Service Diagnostics Cycle will start when the door is closed.

■ Invoking Service Diagnostics clears all status and last run information from memory and restores defaults. It also forces the next cycle to be a sensor calibration cycle.

LET IT RUN ALL THE WAY THROUGH: Service diagnostic cycle will take about 23 minutes.

Do that, and report back.:)

I unsuccessfully tried the recommended sequence - "Press any 3 keys in the sequence 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3".
Specifically the 3 keys I tried on the right side were 1) Sani Rinse, 2) High Temp, 3) Heated Dry. (repeated 2 more times)
After doing this the Diagnostics Cycle didn't start.
I tried three other keys as well, and they didn't work.
I'm thinking that the entry sequence for this model is different than the 1-2-3, etc.

I could be wrong, Look for your tech. data sheet, it should be located behind your bottom access panel.

Thanks for the Tech Sheet.
I also found it taped to the back of the kick plate.
Jake was correct, the reset for this model per the tech sheet is:
"Press any 3 keys in the sequence 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3 with no more than 1 second between key presses."
Unfortunately it didn't work, so we ordered the replacement user interface PCB board ($74).
My guess is that the microswitch behind the start button has failed.
I'll let everyone know if this replacement works.

OK, here is the update.

I ordered a replacement user interface part (rectangular green circuit board) and installed it.
This fixed the problem!!!
The original circuit board must have had a failed component or PCB connection.
