Hey everyone,

Our oven takes upwards of 30-40 minutes to preheat or refuses to preheat at all. I've already replaced the temp sensor however, I'm not above ruling it being defective. I took the liner and baffle out last night and tested it and it lit fine (first click), pre-heated and came up to temp ok with the burner exposed. Any idea why it would start working ok disassembled?

Thanks!

Look for a bare spot in a wire or a pinched wire.

Thanks for the reply! You mean on the temp sensor? It looks ok.

The two parts I removed when the oven started heating properly were the two bottom pieces inside the oven here.. It should be noted that the inside of my oven didn't look like the provided diagram on the Sears site. Mine only has 1 burner as opposed to two.

Not sure why it would start working better with those two pieces out. More oxygen to a failing part?

No, all the wires between the igniter and spark module.

The diagram shows the Broil burner and the Bake burner.

I can't come up with any reason unless the igniter voltage is leaking through a bare spot on a wire. Makes no sense.
