Angry DV350AEW/XAA-0000 Samsung Dryer Not Heating

    Model Number: DV350AEW
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

First post here guys, please be gentle. I have spent about an hour searching and reading here to no avail, so if this has been asked or answered please forgive me and point me towards the right thread.

I preface this with the fact that i am NOT an appliance repairman ( at least not yet ) but I am a pretty handy guy and know my way around a schematic and a dvom.

This is the 4th time my DV350AEW/XAA-0000 has stopped heating. First time, I replaced an obviously broken heating element, second time the high temp thermostat, third time low level tested bad, and the last time i replaced all three of them at the same time. All the failures have occurred within the last three months. I have checked the vent for cleanliness and checked for air leaks around the door. I have NOT checked for proper exit air temps and cycle times, etc.

Any troubleshooting tips or ideas or words of wisdom or experience would be very much appreciated. This is a last ditch effort before I replace the unit.

    TIA

Let's make sure we're on the same page. Does the machine heat in the cool down cycle or on air fluff, or was that supposed to say "heating"?

    Rick,

I hope this speaks to my level of frustration with this dryer :-), Yes, what I meant to say was that the unit has stopped heating ( again ). Apparently I can not go back and edit the original post at this point.

OK, don't assume the parts that were replaced are still good. I haven't found a tech sheet for that model yet so check the element and thermostats for continuity. Reset the circuit breakers and check for 220 VAC at the terminal block

    Kevin,

Did you ohm test this one DC96-00887C to see if its tests good? Make sure you unplug the dryer before ohm testing it.

That's the main problem child that tends to go out first when the dryer runs but doesn't heat.

Multiple people have not been able to figure out why it keeps blowing, including myself.

Here's our main thread on it: DV218AEB Samsung Dryer Keeps Blowing Thermal Fuse And you can see my posts towards the end of that thread of the one I worked here in my area locally and still kept blowing it.

I told my customer to NOT to use HIGH HEAT anymore, just MEDIUM HEAT or LOW HEAT and she hasn't called back since to say it blew out again.

    Guys,

I very much appreciate the info, Thermal Fuse tests bad again. I have bought the last two from Amazon, ( Samsung DC96-00887A ). Maybe these are substandard parts, I don't know. I seem to recall being able to buy the parts from a reputable source here ? If you can point me in the right direction I will order today. And get a spare. In the mean time I will check to make sure the vent is totally unobstructed, again. BTW, what is the difference between the Samsung DC96-00887A and the Samsung DC96-00887C ?
