Default Samsung DV328AEW/XAA dryer wont heat

    Model Number: DV328AEW/XAA
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: Less than 1 year

My wife wanted the dryer stacked on top of the washer. I bought the kit from Best Buy and the dryer has not heated up since. I checked the vent, continuity on the thermostat, high temp sensors (one on element box and one one exhaust) and I replaced the thermistor on the exhaust just because I thought it was bad. Did a continuity test on it rather than ohm test. Rookie mistake. I pulled out and opened the coil box and it is fine. It has continuity. Tension pully, belt, and motor are working fine. I also checked the outlet. Runs but no heat.

When did you buy this washer and dryer set?

If they are under a year old, you have full warranty on them, contact Samsung to come out.

If they are older than 1 year, It could be a voltage issue, I've run into many dryers that will run and not heat on my service calls. Did you check your breaker at your breaker box? that may have tripped or a broken wire from one of the hot legs that connects to the terminal block in the back of the dryer.

You would need to check for 220-240 volts at electrical outlet or terminal block with your multimeter.

220-240 volt 3 prong power plug test for a dryer

220-240 volt 4 prong power plug test for a dryer

If your getting 220-240 volts at the electrical outlet, Then Unplug your dryer, and pull it out from the wall and remove the metal cover where your power cord connects to your dryer and see if any of the 3 wires have burned.

Look at this from another member that had this same issue:

If you find that has a burnt hot wire like in the photo above, then you would need a new terminal block kit and new dryer cord.
