Default LG Model DLE5977S hum no spin unless helped

    Model Number: DLE5977S
    Brand: LG
    Age: More than 10 years

Hums when started, no movement, will spin on it's own when I give it help but when even a small load is put in, it will slow down, almost to a stop. I took it apart. Had a decent amount of lint but not excessive and not interfering with any moving parts. My wife told me she heard something metallic "drop" last time she used it. I found this and a small spring (see attachment) in rear of dryer in corner behind motor. I didn't know if these are parts of the dryer or not. Click image for larger version.

My thought is that these parts don't belong to the dyer and I need a motor but don't want to open up a can of worms.

Thanks in advance -- as usual

Those are part of the motor heat switch from inside the motor = new motor time!
