Default Please help to identify what is this part for LG Dryer DLEX3360W

    Model Number: DLEX3360W
    Brand: LG
    Age: 1-5 years

My LG Dryer DLEX3360W stopped working, once I opened the cover, I notice the belt is broken.

So I replaced the belt 4400EL2001F, and the dryer now seems to work fine.

During the process I found a melted yellow wheel on the bottom, any idea what is this part? I cannot find it from LG's website.

That's the plastic piece that's behind the motor pulley. Works like a dust cover for the motor bearing. You can just make it out in this image:

    Appreciate your help!

I cannot figure out how this one could melt, looks like this piece cannot be fixed alone without replacing the motor , correct?

With this gone, does it cause any long term safety issue? I assume this will shorten the life of motor?

Just before the belt broke the motor pulley was spinning inside the belt. The friction caused the motor pulley and motor shaft to get super hot. You're fine without it. It won't have any effect on the life of the motor. It's an LG dryer so everything else will break long before the motor fails.
