Default AO Smith ECT 80 210 suddenly very hot

    Model Number: ECT 80 210
    Brand: other
    Age: 6-10 years

As the title states, this hot water tank will produce super scalding hot water randomly. Thermostat going or something along those lines?

    Hi,

Yes, you will need to change the thermostats, both upper and lower. Turn the breaker off to the water heater first.
