Default Samsung Dryer DV350AEW/XAA turns off in 5 seconds

    Model Number: DV350AEW
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

Whether the dryer is running a cycle or just turned on, the dryer keeps turning on its own. It's been doing that on a 4 prong and a 3 prong cord. I've cleaned the front filter area and for the back, the vent I have is a tube in the ground connected to the house. Not sure where it leads. Sometimes I try it again randomly it works out fine. Other times I get no results.

I am lost as to what is going one with the dryer. Can you clarify what you mean when you say
Whether the dryer is running a cycle or just turned on, the dryer keeps turning on its own.

    Sorry turning off*

I power on the dryer and 5 seconds later it may randomly turn off, sometimes I power on the dryer and choose a cycle, run it, and it will turn off in 5 seconds/5 minutes. It happens more often.

When it turns off no jingle or anything, it legit loses power and turns off.

If you are lucky you might have a power supply issue. Check the power chord prongs. Unplug the power chord (if you have one that can be unplugged ) and see if any of the prongs are brownish in color or is the rubber around the base of any prong melted away from the prong. If it looks burned replace the chord and the receptacle on the wall. If your dryer is hard wired then disregard the previous steps.
Check the terminal block connections. That's the block that the power chord attaches to in the back of the dryer. See if any wires look burned. Make sure the nuts are tight that hold the wires. Of course turn the power off at the circuit breaker panel before doing this.
If you are unlucky your problem is in the circuit boards inside the dryer. My guess would be that it's the main power control board. Unfortunately it has been discontinued and is no longer available

    Hi,

I've seen this happen before a couple times, the problem is your motor went bad. Make sure you unplug your dryer before replacing it.

Here's another member that it fixed as well: FIXED: DV400EWHDWR Samsung dryer starts spinning and stops 5 seconds later

Here's the motor for your model you can order:

This video shows you "how to" replace it: Samsung Dryer Drive Motor Replacement Video

Let us know how it goes.

Jake maybe I misread his post . I got the impression that the dryer just drops dead ie: the panel display turns off. The link you posted for a fix says
it started but stopped completely after 5 seconds, but stays with power.
