I bypassed the Flame Sensor as suggested and the igniter glowed!!! I allowed it to glow for about 5 seconds and powered off the dryer for fear of possible damage to other components.

I never saw flame though. Would I see gas flame without the Flame Sensor in place if I let it run longer? In other words, would the gas valve open without a Flame Sensor?

:-) Now I wish I placed overnight delivery of the Flame Sensor! :-)

    Hi, Jake,

I have already ordered the Flame Sensor and am waiting for its arrival!

My question is --- Would I see actual gas flame when I perform the test by bypassing the Flame Sensor? In my case, the igniter glowed but got no flame after about 5 seconds.

The parts arrived this afternoon and.....I put it on within minutes. Power it on and BINGO! The igniter glowed and I had both flame and heat! Just to be sure, I let the dryer ran for a while and the flame went out after a while and, soon the flame came back on automatically as it should. In all, the dryer is officially FIXED!

Thank you again for your guidance. You have made the repair easy and fun!

Just to satisfy my curiosity - Would or should the flame come on when I performed the test with bypassed Flame Sensor?

Excellent, glad the flame sensor fixed it.

    Thanks for the update!

Nope, you'd never see a flame with it bypassed, just the igniter glowing.
