    Default DV45K6500EV/A Samsung Dryer Noise

    Model Number: DV45K6500EV
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

    Good afternoon all,

Hope this message finds you well. I have a relatively young Samsung dryer (about 2 years old) dryer that is making this bad noise.. I am not too sure how to describe it so I have YouTube links to videos below.

I am by no means an appliance repair (or any repair for that matter) expert but thought I would see if I could save some money fixing it myself. The noise isnt there all the time. In fact, I have had the top cover off for 1.5 weeks just to try to catch it. But when it is there, it sounds pretty bad. Further, I have not detected any pattern of when it makes the noise vs when it doesn't.

I have looked at the belt and it seems in pretty good shape and certainly doesnt appear to be slipping. I have also used a borescope to look at the drum support rollers and they seem in pretty good shape albiet a little dirty.

Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated! Have a good day.

    Hi Paradox,

Yes, that sounds like bad rollers. You have to unplug the dryer and remove the drum to physically turn all your rollers with your hand to see if any are becoming wobbly, same with the idler pulley.

Here's the drum roller for your model(Your model takes 4 drum rollers, so I'd order 4 drum rollers)(Video Included):

    Also check your idler pulley.

Here's the Idler Pulley for your model(Video Included):

Let us know how it goes.

    Jake,

Thanks for the help! Turns out it was the idler pulley, the wheel had come completely off the bracket. I also wussed out and had a professional come fix it, I didn't have the guts to take the drum out.

    Thanks again for the help!
