Default GSH25JSRFSS Refrigerator and freezer wont cool

    Model Number: GSH25JSRFSS
    Brand: GE
    Age: 6-10 years

Interior lights work but control panel led lights and water, ice and light do not.

After unplug/plugin there is a slight humming noise at the top of the freezer section and a faint led pulsing led light on the control panel for the chosen function (ie: water, cubed or crushed). After a few minutes the noise and the pulsing light both stop.

No other noises and wont cool.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Hi Tim,

You'll need a multimeter to check the voltage to the compressor from the motherboard itself.

Remove the cover over the back of the motherboard and measure the voltage between J8 and J7-9, you should get 120 volts when the compressor should be running. If not, then your motherboard is the culprit.

    Ok Tim,

Yes, then the new motherboard will fix it.

I went on a service call Saturday in Quartzsite, AZ on a GE side by side not cooling, same thing no voltage between J8 and J7-9, so I ordered a new motherboard as well.
