Hello,

I have a Kenmore Elite Dual Fuel Oven Model #790.78502012. I went to use it today, (worked fine a couple days ago) and it's taken 1 1/2 hours to heat to 256°, and it's struggling to get past that. Any ideas? Thank you.

Check the bake element for continuity.

Thank you for the reply. My husband did that and it works fine. We've been told it could be the control panel. Is there anything else it could be? Thank you.

OK, bad control board. Correct voltage going in but no voltage out. Part link is in post #4

Ok, thank you. That link says the part is out of stock. Someone named Robert posted a link to a part at Sears, but now I don't see his comments. Do you know if that was the same part?

It's the same part number, but since I know nothing about this, I wanted to make sure.

Yes, if Sears has it in stock, its the same board you can order it there.

Thank you so much for all of your help. It will be so awesome if this works. Much cheaper than buying a new stove, especially since you can hardly find one right now! Thanks again.

It should work because the your current control board is receiving the correct voltage, but not sending the correct voltage to the bake element. That's why bake element isn't heating up.

FYI for anyone reading this that may need this part; the Sears Parts Direct website says in stock, but after they get your money they send you an email saying it's backordered. Upon calling them, I had to speak with someone I could barely understand, only to be told they cannot tell me from their end when or if it will ever be in.

A seller on eBay claims to have more than 10 in stock, but 2 messages to him asking if he actually has them and when they would ship, have gone unanswered.

At this point, I have no idea what to do. Can't fix the old stove and can't find a new one. Thanksgiving dinner should be interesting this year. 😩

It should come back in stock, because it isn't discontinued. Yep, now it say backordered on Sears PartsDirect, and it says that the estimated delivery is in about 3 weeks. So, if the manufacturer delivers them on time, you should get it in around that time. It could be that there were just a few left in stock, or someone ordered a bunch to resell them at a higher price.

I don't trust eBay sellers because you never know if you are actually getting a new product or even a genuine product.

Unless Frigidaire (who makes that part) decides to discontinue it, it should come back before Thanksgiving.

Sears pulled a fast one.

Sears is almost died anyways, I'd be surprised if they make it through this year.

The sooner they shut down the better, if Sears customer service treats people like that, they should stay OUT OF BUSINESS!!!

The problem with backordered boards and the reason no one knows when they will get them is a shortage of semiconductors over seas. It’s been a problem since December 2020. There are a few places that will rebuild the board for you. fixyourboard.com and circuitboardmedics.com are a few.

Rick, do you know who I can call to see if and when this part will ever be available? If it were going to be here in a month, I'd wait for it. Do I call Frigidaire or ?

It’s not a manufacturer problem. There’s a shortage of PC board components from the companies that make them. Most of them are overseas and are struggling to keep up due to COVID.

Update: I received the part today from Sears Parts Direct, and our range is up and running again! The part was received 11 days from the order date.

That company is the worst to deal with; they lied about the part being available, horrible communication, they leave you sitting in the dark with no availability info. , and there was no shipping or tracking notice, and my account on their website still says my part is on backorder....😳😅....but I did receive it.

Thank you to Rick and others, for all your help. I really do appreciate it!
