I have an admiral washing machine ATW4675YQ1. I have had this machine 10 years almost to the day and have been experiencing problems such as the machine banging during the spin cycle and walking across the floor. I figured out it was the “Shock absorbers” that consist of a long rod with a Spring on the bottom on which the tub balances. After I replaced the shocks with a new set, the problem ceased. The reason the “shocks” failed is because the rod was corroded preventing the springs and caps from smoothly moving up and down. Built-in obsolescence. The new shocks‘ rods I installed were treated with a Teflon type coating that will prevent corrosion.
