I have a single igniter that consistently does not work on my gas rage. While facing the unit, the upper left burner will not light and does not spark (I hear clicking on all burners). I've swapped the 2 burner units back and forth and the problem stays with the upper left burner so I don't think the igniter in the unit is bad in either of the burners.

I've checked a number of prior posts such as http://www.applianceblog.com/mainforums/amana/32669-some-my-ignighters-will-not-spark.html but don't believe this matches the same problem.

The burner lights when I use a match/flame so I know it's getting gas.

Could the spark module be slowly going bad? or is it something else all together?

any help would be appreciated - thanks!

Hi,

EAP2033426
This didn't come for me...
Where is my Model Number? | Appliance Aid Some model# helps.

While facing the unit, the upper left burner will not light and does not spark (I hear clicking on all burners).
Cracked electrode, cut wire, pinched wire, chewed on wire ( between the electrode and spark module ), bad spark module.....would be prime suspects.

Thanks for the quick response!

apologize for not having the specific model number - will update that when I get home.

are these items accessible from the top of the unit or only from underneath and the back?

Great :)

Can't check the design without the model#, but most are from the top/front.

That one works :)
Wow there are a lot of parts NLA for this unit :(

Looks like the cartridge comes out and can be taken apart for inspection inside those.
Looks like to access inside much the top trim has to come off...

well, it took me some time to tear it all apart but I didn't see any cut wires, pinched wires or even any chewed wires. Nothing on the electrodes that indicated any problem. I was looking for a single spark module but I *think* I found 2 directly under the burner controls. is that possible? the only other thing that looked like a spark module from the parts picture was directly in front of the 4 burner controls. However that just looked like a junction box. The other two items have a coil of some type inside.

after putting this all back together, it worked fine except for the burner at 10:00 not igniting.

I've attached a couple of pictures for help. I appreciate all the assistance!

thanks

sorry for the delay but I've been traveling a lot and 3 burners was fine for the little cooking being done.

I replaced the spark module and all 4 burners ignite each time. The module was a tight fight (slightly larger than the original) but I got it in.

Thanks for all the help - much appreciated!!
