What controls the amount of water flowing from the water dispenser? My refrigerator takes 30 seconds to dispense 16 oz of water. I would like to speed that up a bit since everyone is annoyed on how slow it is. I have an external water filter, the refrigerator does have a filter location, but I have used the bypass supplied when new in the refrigerator and rely on the external filter since they are 1/3 the cost.

I did disconnect the line from the output of the filter and I could fill a gallon pail in 5 seconds so I know I don't have a restriction there. Seeing how much water flows from a 1/8" line compared to what is dispensed by the refrigerator, I'm guessing there must be some sort of restrictor or orifice somewhere on the refrigerator? I would like to see if I can enlarge the restrictor just a bit to solve the problem.

Ok, so that indicates your external water filter is fine.

So you will want to disconnet the water line at the output of each of your two water inlet valves and see which is slowing the pressure down.

Here's both water inlet valves for your model.

Primary(before filter) water inlet valve:
Water Inlet Valve WP12544001

Secondary(after filter) water inlet valve:
Water Inlet Valve WP12544101

Thanks Jake for the quick reply! Am I to assume there really isn't any separate inline orifice reducing the water flow, its just the valves themselves that do the restricting?

Thanks again.. Bill
