Hello-
I observed an error code on my American Standard heat pump water heater this past weekend.
Error code "ba". This code is not listed in the owners manual troubleshooting section.
However, what I found was that the exhaust duct "flap" outside had frozen open from condensation and a long stretch of extreme cold.
This was allowing very cold outside air to flow down into the heat pump section, and it didn't "like" it.
I reset the water heater by cycling power, disconnected the exhaust tube and set the mode to "electric" for an hour or so.
I then set the mode to ECO which only uses the heat pump to produce hot water.
The error code has not returned and the heat pump is functioning normally.
If anything, I think the heat pump is running less.
Has anyone observed this same error code before?
Thanks and good luck!
