We have just installed a new residential gas water heater and after redoing the drain pipes, adding unions, replacing gas line, using drain pan, we have Water coming from under the unit.
I have checked all connections and there is no visible water, or water tracks, anywhere on the outside of the unit or pipes...
Granted, it's not much (used 6 paper towels to dry out the pan 2 different times), but need to know what could be happening and how to proceed...
Today there was no water but there is a visible residue around the bottom air filter. (yes, we will be adding a drain pipe to the pan shortly, as there is no drain...)

Thank you so much for the reply. I will keep an eye on it to see if this cycle continues.
If there are further issues I will certainly be back with more!
Have a wonderful day.

Glad to help.:)

Have a great day yourself!

Jake
