After about 3 years, the dishwasher started to white residue on dishes. The same thing happen to our previous dishwasher (Kenmore), but that one ended up having a faulty control pannel, so we just bought a new one.
I've read that it is usually either salt or lime residue. Salt can usually be taken off with just your finger. This does not, but can be removed with viniger. I've tried "Affresh", which is supposed to be good for it, but it doesnt seem to make much of a difference!

Is there something I'm missing? is there a way to "deep clean" it or something?
any suggestions?

thanks.

@Dan O. posted a good article link that you may want to look at here:

Try Citric Acid or Dishwasher Magic, Its In-stock here: Dishwasher Magic, dishwasher cleaner, 12 oz. Bottle

Update in the hopes it helps someone with similar situation: I had someone dm me and throughout the conversation, the possibility of too much detergent came up. We ended up trying a pod since these are premeasured. MUCH better! Never would've guessed!

ALWAYS use a detergent POD (PUCK) instead of loose crystals! Especially, I use the Finish PowerBall pucks, the BASIC ones, not the fancy expensive ones. And whatever you do, DON'T USE a POD that has a plastic coating!!! That will surely eventually GUM-UP your dishwasher. I use Finish jet-dry rinse-aid or Cascade.
