I just purchased a new refrigerator for a rental unit. The tenant told me that it was delivered today.

The delivery person had to reverse the door swing, and when he reinstalled the bottom hinge he evidently forgot to install the door stop. Then, realizing that he had an extra part, he tried unsuccessfully to remove the screws.

My questions are: by installing the screws without the door stop, could he have done any damage to the refrigerator itself? Why should it have been difficult to remove those screws? bottom line, should i get refrigerator swapped out, or is this an easy fix and no permanent damage likely was done?

Thank you.

Hi,

JMO!

by installing the screws without the door stop, could he have done any damage to the refrigerator itself?

Not likely.

Why should it have been difficult to remove those screws?

Air impact guns and people on the assembly line getting over zealous tightening things.

should i get refrigerator swapped out

Not likely.

or is this an easy fix and no permanent damage likely was done?

Likely yes.

thank you.
Delivery/Installation guy took part with him. Home Depot/Whirlpool decided to replace fridge rather than give me replacement door stop to try to install myself. Replacement fridge is now sitting on just one leveler. I need to readjust levelers, so both rest on the floor and so that fridge door closes better. Fridge is pretty level, but I assume it should be tilted somewhat to the back so door closes better. Is that right? But first i need tenants to empty fridge.

Usually we do level it so the front is slightly higher than the back so the door will want to try and close on it's own.
