Hi Jake,
Our washer abruptly stopped working last week. My husband did some googling and determined it was the control board, so we ordered a new one and he installed it but the machine is having the same issue. When you try to start it, it seems to think for a moment and then the lights just turn off. He hasn’t checked the drain pump yet. I just noticed that a piece of the door latch is broken off, could that be causing the problem? I have no idea how long it’s been that way, and I don’t see the broken piece laying around.
We have a 3 month old baby and the dirty laundry is piling up! I (and the peace and happiness in our marriage!) would really appreciate any help you could offer!

Hi Ashley,

Which control board did he replace? The console control board?

E23=Drain pump relay on control board failed, wire off pump or pump defective.
Solution=Replace console control board, wire or pump.

Yes, your door lock latch switch is broken, you will need to replace it.

Here's the door lock assembly for your model:

Also check your door strike.

Here's the door strike you can look at and see if yours looks worn or broken compared to the new one here:

Yes, he did replace the console control board. We will take a look at the pump and the wire. So the door latch wouldn’t cause this error code, right? Thank you so much!! Very much appreciated!

No, it shouldn't, but if that lock latch assembly is broken, that may be why its not doing anything at all now.

Is there any water in the tub you can see?

Nope, no water in the tub. I think we’ll just call a repair man. Thanks for your help! Really appreciate it.
