Speed Queen top load washer quit mid cycle, after fill and wash, start of drain and rinse
Unplugged and restart… dead
Wont respond to any controls, will not fill with more water with change/reset of fill dial, will not agitate, will not spin, will not drain
Checked lid lock switch and ok on ohm meter
Motor spins freely, belt fine
Swapped out mechanical timer (main dial)… still dead

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Hi Michael,

Did you check for 120 volts where the power cord comes into the washer? If you get 120 volts, then remove power to the washer and ohm test the lid switch, with the button pushed-in on it, you should show continuity, which is 0 to 1 ohm.

Here's the lid switch for your model:

Quick update on the Speed Queen top loader. The lid switch checked out OK, traced the issue back to the power cord, the neutral had burned out, the hot was still good which complicated troubleshooting initially. Ended up swapping the motor and the main power cord and it is up and running.

Was able to purchase the troubleshooting guide for the washer which was very helpful. And of course there’s online videos for the motor swap, changed the belt while I was at it.
