Hi,

I have a Speed Queen Washer that generates a very loud noise on spin cycle. The drum appears to spin. This was a sudden issue that has also happened before and just as suddenly resolved. I tried the washer grease trick to no avail.

Here is a short vid of the issue

Thanks

Hi,

We would need the model number on your washer first, read it from the model number tag which is usually under the lid.

Thanks!

From your video it sounds like something is in the drain pump causing that noise. Unplug the washer, then remove the drain pump and check for a foreign object in it.

Here's the drain pump for your model:
205217P Direct Drive Water Pump

There is a video on how to access it here:

Amana and Speed Queen are basically the same washer.:)

Let us know how it goes.

Indeed it was the pump. Pulled it out and there was a piece of soft fencing wire in it. Removed and I am testing it out now.

A couple of questions.

The pump smelled awful. We farm so have a lot manure going through the washing machine. Do you recommend periodically flushing the washing machine with bleach water (or something else)?

The motor bolts had blue loctite. I couldn't find any in the shop when re-assembling. Do you recommend going back and applying?

Thank you so much for your help.

You can order Washer Magic to deodorize your washer:
Pro TJ131 Washer Magic

Or this too:
Affresh Washing Machine Cleaner

No, you don't need to, just as long as they are tight.

Thanks for the update!

Appreciate your help, its great to have clean clothes and learn something too. Ill order the deodorant.
