All lights flash a 5 code at the end of cycle. Usually can make it operate another load if I reset breaker. Sometimes it will stop right before rinse and lock up with the 5 code. When this happens resetting the breaker might take 2 or 3 attempts before it will rinse and spin out. Twice the lid has remained locked even with power off so I did replace door lock latch. Ran 2 normal cycles after replacement, but then back to locking out at the end of cycle.

After resetting the breaker I have turned all the knobs before pushing the start button. Sometimes this seems to allow a couple of loads to run before it locks up again. I am an ag mechanic by trade but could use some help on where and how to start diagnosing a washing machine. Thanks for any help

On Pages 23 and 24 and tell me what lights are flashing.

I'm attaching the manual below.

Thanks for replying. All lights flash 5 times (wash, rinse, spin, lid lock), then a pause, then repeats 5 flashes.

Ok, on page 24 it says---> If the all STATUS lights flash, unplug the machine for 15 seconds. Plug the machine back in. If the lights still flash, call for service.

I don't have the service manual for this model Speed Queen, so hopefully another tech can shed some light on this.

Other than that you can contact Speed Queen at 800-552-5475 to have a tech. come out, or online here: https://speedqueen.com/support/find-service/

I have unplugged it several different times as well as shut the breaker off to it. No help. Called Speed Queen when this first started. They weren't real helpful. They said there trouble shooting guide said "there may be a potential wiring problem".

Not sure where to take it from there. I did open the washer and took the cover off the drive control box (?) down by the bottom left hand corner.

I checked all the connections there. Pulled each one off and gave it a squirter of WD40 just for good measure. Ran one normal cycle then at the end of the next cycle it went back to flashing the 5 code.

Yes, without the service manual I have no way to tell you what part might be the issue.

Hopefully another tech or member that's seen this problem before can shed some light on it for us.
