BG21VW Not Working, but lights on - Amana refrigerator w/bottom freezer

I have an Amana BG21VW-P1325001W W refrigerator w/bottom freezer. The unit is not working with the exception of the lights in both compartments. For a period of 24 hours the unit would work if we periodically 'tapped' the thermostat control switch, however this method no longer works. We have replaced the following parts to no avail: thermostat control switch, defrost timer, run capacitor, relay start switch, and overload. Any thoughts on what to try next?

I've seen this happen many times on my service calls and a new temperature control thermostat always fixes it.

So it has to be a defective one you got, because that's all it can be.

We have are having the exact problem as dlarson with the same Amana model BG21VW. Where is the temperature control thermostat located in this refrigerator?

That is part of the full number, I found:

Most of these are in the ceiling of the freezer section.
