My dryer (purchased summer of 2019) is doing the following:
The repair guy can't come for several weeks. Is there anything I might be able to reset (or even better yet fix) to get my dryer up and running again? I don't want to keep using it now because it isn't going to dry the clothes and I figure the thing with the pump is going to damage it (if that isn't already a part of the problem). I don't know if there is a way I can run some type of diagnostic program? Thanks for any help you can provide. Laura
- When I push the start button, after 30 seconds, the countdown changes from the original time to 0:600 (six minutes). (For example, on the Cotton Extra Dry cycle, the time for the cycle starts at 2 hours and 20 minutes - that's the program. It switches to 6 minutes at the 30-second point.)
- When the now new 6-minute time displays, I can hear the pump start to run. Of course, there is no water in the sump yet because the cycle has only been running for 30 seconds.
- At 5 minutes, the machine shuts off and gives the DR error with 1 minute left on the display. DR indicates that there is a fault with draining/pumping out the water. (But there was no water to drain)
- I did go in and clean the sump just to make sure there was no clog - there is not. If I fill the sump with water, the pump will remove it just fine
- dryer does not appear to be getting hot - perhaps because it is when machine thinks the cycle is ending?
- this happens on all cycles, even those with manual time sets (timed dry) which don't rely on the moisture sensor
- it even happens on the Air Fluff/No Heat cycle - very weird
- Once the time has changed from the original setting, the start/pause button will not allow me to pause/stop the cycle
