Hi everyone,

We've had this Bosch dishwasher for several years now and it's worked really well until last fall when it started throwing E24 codes. After some light research I cleaned the filter and tried running it again but the code persisted. I then checked the entire drain path and eventually pulled the dishwasher out from under the counter. I disconnected the drain hose and flushed both it and the dishwasher. The dishwasher drained after that but the drain stream seemed weak. I then tried some Finish Dishwasher Deep Cleaner which seemed to help. Admittedly there was some mineral build up. We got a few more successful cycles after that and then the E24 hit again.

After some more research, I ended up replacing the Heat Pump 12008381 because I may have burned it out by starting the dishwasher dry after one of the flushing events. I checked it with a DMM and it pointed to a bad heating element.

The unit seemed to run ok with the new for several more cycles but the E24 came back. I did my flushing process again and never really found anything but very small food debris. Nothing to cause the fairly weak stream I see going down the sink drain. With a weak stream I thought it might be the drain pump, so I just recently replaced that 00631200. This brings us up to present day. After replacing the drain pump, the first cycle (empty dishwasher test run) drained very well. I'm now running the first cycle with dishes, the drain flow is weak again, and E24 comes up.

Am I doing something wrong? I am wondering if the drain hose is too long but then why did this system work fine for years? To test this idea I'm running the dishwasher through a cycle with the drain disconnected and emptying into a bowl.

I'm just about at my wits end. Any help would be very much appreciated.

This error code have been very stubborn to get rid of, look here:

Did you check the check valve?

You model uses the exact same check valve as in this post:

Thanks Jake. Good thought. I had checked the check valve during one of the many times I pulled the dishwasher out from under the counter. No issues found.

In the meantime, I wanted to give the group an update.

So far so good. The drain stream is still strong a few months after replacing that drain pump. I never ended up shortening the drain hose so I'm hoping I've turned a corner!

Sounds good.(y)

Thanks for coming back to let us know.:)
