Bradford White 50 gallon tripped breaker in breaker box. I reset breaker and now have normal hot water again and no breaker trip. This is first time this has happened. What would have caused this? Is something going bad?

Usually that indicates its just a weak breaker, hold old are your breakers in your home breaker box?

Yes, keep a eye on it then, 7 years is not old.:)

Ok I went ahead and checked elements with multimeter. Upper elemnent has continuity so is good. Lower element has none so is bad. It must have tripped breaker when it finally blew. Like I said breaker reset and hasnt tripped again. I still have hotwater with upper element for now. I will attempt changing lower element myself sometime soon. Haven't done before. Is it normal for elements to go bad after 7 years?

Replaced element today. I would say that was the problem.
