FIXED Brand new insinkerator badger 5, does not run just hums

I'm a little PO'd right now. Old disposer leaked causing damage in ceiling below it. Got everything dry put in new badger 5. Does not start. Just hums then reset trips. Brand new and it's a bear to get to.

Grasping for straws here but is it possible to reverse the polarity which would cause this? Mine is a cord with no black or white marked.

I appreciate comments.

Have you attempted to rotate the elec motor using the hex wrench inserted into the bottom of the disposal? Might free up the unit and get it working. No trash or anything jammed in the cutter head area?

I did what montmil suggested and it worked. Must have been something caught in there.
