Hey guys.

I have a customer with an induction range Kenmore made by Frigidaire model C970-408431.

I have not gone to diagnose the unit. However the issue is, the customer left a pan on a lower heat setting on top, and came back running to the unit after they could smell burning. The pan had melted/joined itself to the glass cooktop. They somehow managed to get most of it off.

My question is, what item in this unit regulates the temperature in this unit. There are no infinite switches as its all electronically controlled. Does the induction 'element' not have any sort of failsafe to prevent overheating?

I am not too knowledgeable on these units.

Thanks!

Recheck your model number for me. I can't get anything to come up with that one. Be sure to read it off the model tag.

Appreciate the reply! Im starting to think it could be a pan/pot failure as well where the customer did not realize the liquid in the pan ran out.
