Hello, I have a GE CCGS990SET3SS - I believe this is a Canadian model? It has an upper and lower oven. The stove and upper oven seem to work fine. The lower oven no longer heats up - it shows 100C and never increases and no heat can be felt.
Based on some searching I believe it might be the igniter, or glow bar (same thing)? Is anyone able to let me know what exact part I would need to order for the lower oven? I want to ensure I don't accidentally order the igniter for the upper oven.

Thank you

Yes, same thing,

Yes it could be the problem but not necessarily. In fact being totally dead is one of the rarer ways an ignitor might fail. Have you even viewed that part? Have you done anything to test it??

I do not suggest you replace parts on a guess. That can get expensive. If you can't determine it is the cause with a reasonable amount of certainty, I suggest you have someone look at it for you.

Thank you for the reply - if it does turn out to be the igniter after some testing, I am trying to determine which igniter it would be; it seems like there are two different parts with the same name but different model numbers. I assume one is for the upper oven and one is for the lower oven. I am not 100% sure which one would be fore the lower oven:

I also have a GE Cafe Double Oven Gas Range. Last year the lower oven wouldn't heat up so replaced the igniter which solved the problem. Then a week ago same problem so I replaced the broken igniter again but this time it didn't work. The deflector is fine so it's not shorting out and the new igniter appears to be fine. I called a technician who said it needs "other components" and estimated repair costs of $450-500. Anyone have a similar problem or have an idea what other components I need. I'd like to try fix it myself if I can

I read through numerous post and replies and I have a similar but different symptom.
CGS9900SET1SS
-lower oven didn’t work but top oven did (broiler as well) and stove top was/is fine
-I replaced the lower oven igniter with OEM part. Checked Ohms and continuity as well prior to replacement of the igniter Since this was the “simple“ fix for most issues like this.
-lower oven still did not work, top oven stopped working a week later but broiler still works (I did order a new igniter for top oven just because but I have not replaced it yet)
- I also tried to do a self clean and the doors locked, fan came on but no ignition of igniters so no heat. I did hear some “clicking” coming from the control pane, I assume it was relays do whatever they do. Maybe they aren’t sending the correct messages to the igniter but not sure……
- So my novice conclusion is that the control board is not properly functioning and would need to replaced.
I'm looking for any suggestions before I purchase a new control board and find out that isn't the the issue and I have to return these parts and just buy all new appliances. (Although I would like to fix this damn thing as a plan A)
