I posted this thread in the wrong place previously and I don't know how to fix it. Could a mod delete the post I placed under dishwashers?
Hi all and Thank You for having me. I have a problem with my daughters Whirlpool Dryer model #CEM2743BQ0. It is a coin operated commercial dryer, being used at her motel, located in the wonderfully warm resort city of Aledo IL.
Actually it's not wonderful, warm or a resort city of any kind. It's February in IL. IT"S COLD !, but that's where we are.
Here is my situation. Brought the dryer home to my garage. It is hooked up to 220V (verified). Dryer will run fine. Push the button, drum rolls, blower blows, it just won't heat up. What I have done so far. Checked all thermostats, fuses, Bypassed all thermostats and fuses. Hooked them back up again as it did not help. Measuring voltage at the heating element, I have 125 V from one leg to ground, and 125 V from the other leg to ground. Measure across the 2 legs on the element, I get nothing. Resistance across the element reads 10 ohms. I took a cord and applied 110V to the element completely separate from the dryer. Simply plugged into the wall. The element heats up. This is where my head scratching begins.
I would appreciate any help you can offer on this. Thanks Greg
