After replacing oven element (which literally blew) , i re-powered range which immediately began smoking from the back. Turns out R41 on control board (316207529) was burnt to crisp. I was wondering what would cause this and what the value and wattage of this resistor R41 would be? Any advise would be appreciated. Replacing a resistor would be much cheaper than replacing control board.

Thanks! Although i had the wrong control board number. Its actually 318414214. It appears it may be a 220 phm 1/2 W. just would like to be sure. Bottom right hand side.

CFEF355FSE is suppose to use # 5304509493 electronic control

control board (316207529) was burnt to crisp. ... i had the wrong control board number. Its actually 318414214.
Where are you getting those numbers from?? According to its parts list, it says it should take electronic control # 316418200 which substitutes to part # 5304509493. I confirmed on Frigidaire's own documentation.

While it is likely a pricing error, the company at the following link has an extremely, EXTREMELY, good price on that component at the moment! That's even before the additional core rebate given for return of the original defective part. You might want to take advantage of that pricing while you can if the control is indeed defective.

LINK > Frigidaire CFEF355FSE Electronic Control # 5304509493 (replaces #'s 316557115, 316418200, 316557100)

Dan. O i stand corrected. The correct part number is in fact 5304509493. Thank you! Although price listed on link you mentioned is fantastic, replacing R41 would still be much cheaper? Just need to verify what value and wattage? Seems impossible to find. I suspect 220 ohm 1/2 W.....need to be sure.

Hopefully that's the only problem with it.

Appliance manufacturers don't usually make individual component specifications available... if they even know them. The electronic controls are made by a 3rd party.

Sorry but I don't know where you'll find that information.

That has to be one of the cheapest clock/controls that I have seen in a long time!

Thanks Jeff. Yea it s a great deal considering what they normally go for. So yea i did replace R41 and as expected it blew again. Control board or block. Either way just decided to upgrade to a new range after 9 1/2 yrs. Appreciate all the help on this forum!
