Model Number
CVE28DM5NBS5
Brand
GE
Age
1-5 years
2 year old GE Cafe fridge stopped making ice suddenly. Replaced the ice box fan motor and could hear the fan working but stopped after about 20 mins. Strange thing is even after turning off the ice maker I could still hear as if the ice maker is running.

Got a second ice box fan and replaced it.
Before replacing it checked the connections with volt meter and they were reading:
Black to red 12.7
Yellow to black 2.9
White to black 2.3

Ran the service diagnostic 50 right after replacing it for the second time and it was showing different numbers for RPM. 10 mins or so later the fan stopped running and ran the test 50 and it came back as 00.
Any idea what this could be? Is it the motherboard? Although voltages seemed in range when checking it.

Another member had this similar issue here:

It turned out to be a bad ice maker.

Your ice maker is the exact same one as his: Small Cube Icemaker WR30X39345

Did you ever find a resolution? I have the same refrigerator and my ice maker also stopped working all of a sudden. When I turn on the ice maker, it sounds like it's trying to make ice. I haven't heard water being released to the ice maker though so that may be part of the problem.

How do you run a diagnostic? Is there a guide somewhere? Where are you checking voltages? Thanks for any help you can offer!
