Hi. I was just using my dryer and everything was fine. However, on my very next load right after, the dryer was not generating any heat at all. I've tried it on different settings (regular heat, med heat, auto dry, timed dry, etc.) but still no heat whatsoever. I replaced the dryer timer and rotary switch on this machine about 6 years ago. As always, any help or lead where to start searching for the problem this time (or if I just need to replace the dryer already) will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

Quick Gas Dryer Tips:

Problem - Gas flame comes on first few times then quits and igniter keeps cycling on and off but never lets the gas go.

Answer ( most common ) -

Replace the coils on the Gas Valve.

Problem - No flame, no igniter glowing at all.

Answer ( most common ) -

Inspect igniter for small burnt spot on dark gray or black part of igniter or check for 110 volts to igniter when dryer should be calling for heat.

The parts that I have pointed out with the arrows are the parts that you will need to check with an ohm meter if the dryer is not heating.

If needed:

Ignitor assembly

Dryer gas valve coil kit
