We are rewiring the kitchen and want to change the garbage disposer from being hardwired to being plug and cord. Electrical code permits this if the manufacturer lists a cord for the disposer. I know just about any cord will work, but I may need to show the manual to the county inspector if he or she asks. We have a Kenmore disposer with a tag that says 175.601151 . Because of the goofy Sears model numbering, I cannot be sure that I am finding the right manual for this disposer. When I search for manuals online, I find a Kenmore manual that says it is for models 6010, 6011, and a bunch of others. I'm wondering if 175.601151 is really a 6011. If so, I can use cord kit 60686.

So, my goofy question is whether anyone can tell me if 175.601151 is a Model 6011. Or, can you point me to a manual for a 175.601151?

Again, this isn't really about making it work. It's about passing inspection if the inspector asks us to show that things are all being used as listed.

Yeah, that matches the manual I found when I search for 601151. There are model numbers on the last page, which is where I found 6011, but not 60115 or 601151. Do Kenmores sometimes have an extra digit at the end that aren't really part of the model number?

Thanks for your help.

Yes. It can indicate a colour change, addition or subtraction of a trim piece, different knob, etc.

I finally heard back from Sears Home Services. I'll post their answer in case it helps someone else. They said,

Thank you for contacting Sears Holdings. My name is Jennifer, I am a
Member Care email advisor.

Below is a link for the manual I was able to find with that model
number:
