Dryer stopped working today. Main issue is it’s not getting hot. I noticed it doesn’t seem to be making the sound it usually does when the gas ignites to start heating up.

Any advice on what to check would be appreciated.

Here's your service manual: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IqwfZTnECBnJLmI7njADl4w7Gz7EVwSH/view?usp=sharing

Make sure power is disconnected from the dryer first before opening the dryer and ohm testing.

I'd first ohm test the gas igniter.

Here's the igniter for your model:

Watch this video to ohm test it:

Also ohm test the high limit thermostat: High Limit Thermostat AGM30045804

Looks like it comes as a kit with both thermostats: https://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/High-Limit-Thermostat/AGM30045804/4979251

Also ohm test the blower thermostat, it is on the backside of the blower housing assembly.

Here's the blower thermostat for your model:

Thanks for the service manual.

I checked the gas valve and igniter and both checked out. The reading was 0 on the blower thermostat and 10.8 on the high limit thermostat that’s directly next to the blower thermostat.

I also checked the high limit and safety thermostats on the tube where the gas ignites and the reading was 0 on the high limit but I don’t get a reading on the safety.

Do you think it’s a bad safety thermostat?

Issue ended up being the high limit thermostat was tripped.
Also, there was a bunch of lint inside the dryer cabinet with plenty near the gas valve, igniter, etc. so I think that’s probably what caused the switch to trip.
But after doing a thorough cleaning of everything and resetting the thermostat, everything working fine so far.
Thanks again for your help.

Very possibly but it is also a sign of poor venting.

I strongly suggest you reevaluate the venting all the way from the dryer to the outdoors and the outdoor vent cap. Poor venting can lead to a file hazard. You can read about dryer venting at the following link. Also, look in the owner's manual or installation instruction for maximum length for your particular model.

I had checked the vent at the wall and stuck the shop vac hose up as far as I could reach from there.
As far as I could tell it was clear but I’ll take another look from up on the roof and make sure it’s clear all the way up.

Thanks for the tip.
