I just wanted to share my experience with everyone on my latest big purchase at Home Depot. I purchased a new GE washer and dryer during one of their sales. Of course at the time everyone had washers and dryers on sale. But I chose Home Depot. What a mistake. They promised me a $50 gift card and a rebate for the delivery. I am still waiting for both. The purchase was made three months ago. When I called to find out the status of the gift card, they told me I wasn’t eligible. Luckily I have copies of all the paperwork and after faxing them back in. I was then notified that I would be receiving a $25 gift card. So after another hour on the phone, they supposedly rectified the problem. I’m still waiting. As for the rebate, another hour phone conversation and more faxing, I’m still waiting. Don’t buy anything from Home Depot. Buy your stuff from Lowes or Sears. Thanks for hearing me out, if anyone else has had a similar situation I’d love to hear it.

Had a nightmare at Sears!

When you can finally reach the appropriate manager who can actually do something it is at least 4-5 hours of my time  to get to that point between trying to resolve over the phone and in the store.

Better yet, support your local small business! :D Since these places only sell appliances they seem to be much more helpful throughout the entire process. Also, contrary to popular belief, prices on almost everything are about the same.

Yah I bought a GE top loader there a couple years ago. I did get the 10% off I think it was for opening a charge account. They promised free delivery, but then denied my claim saying I didn't have a valid transaction number or something even though I entered it right off their own paperwork. I figured it wasn't worth the hassle and didn't pursue. On a brighter note, I did pick up a small casement air conditioner and one of those small heaters that mounts on a 20lb propane tank, and both of those have been serving me well for a number of years.
