Got a Whirloool dryer model WED4815EW0 that a customer called to have me come look at his dryer due to the dryer continually running. I replaced the timer motor with a used one i had from another dryer and fixed the issue temporarily. Dryer would then advancing and stop at end of cycle. Timer would shut off at end of cycle so assumed it was fixed. Customer called 20 min after i left and said he heard a loud pop and smells burning and noticed the house 220 dryer breaker tripped. They hadn't touched it since i left according to my customer. It also wasn't running since i turned it off when i left from the repair. When i went back i pulled off the timer again and this time i noticed the plug to the motor was black (burnt). Cleaned it up, plugged back in and dryer runs and heats perfectly except timer isn't advancing again. What may have caused it to throw the breaker and stop advancing the dryer timer again? I'm baffled.
