The heater relay switch on my DV400EWHDWR/AA dryer failed, caught fire and melted the relay as well as the connector. I know I can replace the entire PCB, but I'd like to attempt replace the relay only. What relay part do I need (specs, part #, etc.). The relay is referred to as RY7 in a Samsung service manual, but it gives no further technical specs and I cannot find a RY7 relay listed in any parts supplier. Also, where can I find the connector that goes into this relay?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,

As techs. we don't do board level repairs, so it's going to be nearly impossible to know what heater relay you need without the board schematic, which Samsung does not supply to the general public.

Here's the main PCB for your model:

Hi Jake,

I have a small issue that I’m hoping you could address for me. My dryer runs non stop unless I leave the door open or pull the physical power. I read it’s a problem with that board. I’m a computer guy so easy peasy on replacing but I’m not sure if I got the wrong part or not or if I can modify it? I ordered through Samsung parts and gave them my model number and the new board looks exactly like the old one except the one relay connection. My configuration looks like your pick above. The new one has the connection side by side (in picture below). I took a picture of the Samsung relay that looks like two pieces stuck together by a piece of plastic. Can I break the plastic and still use this part? It looks like there is no wiring in the plastic other than to help show you which one goes where. Or is it the wrong part altogether? I have it pictured below too. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Good Morning Kade,

Take a photo of your model number tag, its located inside the door, and upload it here.

If you have the exact same model number as the OP, then that control board I posted above is for your model. It should look identical.

As techs we don't replace parts at board level, we replace the entire board. So if you plan on replacing parts at board level, we're not able to assist you with that.
