My dryer stopped drying, the drum still spins, but there is no heat. I checked the voltage in the cord and the outlet, it was all fine. I checked the resistance in the 2 thermostats and the heating coil, and the issue was the coil. I bought a new one on Amazon, replaced the whole heater assembly and it worked! Then it died again. I pulled out the heater assembly and again, the coil is not showing continuity. I had also cleaned all the vents and a bunch of lint in the machine.

Any ideas as to why the heater coil would fry again? Did I get a defective part and should try another? Call a repair man? Buy a new machine? All suggestions are welcome!

Did I get a defective part
Probably. That's what it sounds like. Make sure there is good air flow from the vent. We have seen many many issues with Amazon and eBay and appliance parts. Return it for a replacement part. App has a 365 day warranty and uses OEM parts.
