Got a Samsung dryer that the belt ground itself to death leaving belt fragments everyone. I’ll replace the belt but am wondering if there is any root cause I should look out for that may have caused this. It’s an old dryer and at this point the drum has a gash in it but that’s all the way in the back. Not where the belt sits at all.

attached is a photo of where the consent ration of belt fragments are.
Right by the tensioner pulley. The motor spins freely.

Yes David, I'd unplug the machine and check the drum rollers to make sure they turn smooth both ways. Rollers and Idler pulley not turning freely both ways causes strain on the belt.

Also check your idler pulley to make sure it turns smooth both ways.
