Our Whirlpool Refrigerator’s lower door hinge (on refrigerator side, not freezer) seems to be bad. A few months ago the door would kind of spring back to closed when you shut the door. Now it will sit just barely open and you always have to push it closed now or it will stay open about an inch. I noticed what look like black bearing debris on the floor just below the lower hinge. Is this hinge easy to replace? If not, I can live with it as We always push it shut now.

Also need the fan in the back. It is a bit noisy.

There is a door-closer 'cam' on the bottom hinge and one on the bottom of the door. They are likely worn and/or broken. They are not usually overly difficult to replace. Remove the top door hinge, lift the door off the lower hinge to make the repair. Reassemble in reverse order.

If the fan blade is not just dirty making it off balance, the motor may need to be replaced. It is a common failure point.

BTW. *Thoroughly* clean the condenser coils while you're there. Your fridge will last longer, cool better and consumer less energy with clean condenser coils.:biggrin-new:
