ET8CHMXKB00 Whirlpool Refrigerator - Old Relay has Two Pins, New One has One, Where to put other wire?

Hi All,

I have an old Whirlpool ET8CHMXKB00 and the Start Relay is bad. I found the recommended part replacement on Whirlpool WP4387938 and ordered it. Where I'm stuck is that the old start relay had two pins and the new relay only has one.

The top wire in the old housing is going to the Overload and the bottom two are going to the old Start Relay. The blue wire's pin is larger than the two twisted white wires. The larger blue wire is going to the Capacitor, the smaller white ones are going to capacitor and over to the fan.

The new one looks like this and only has a single pin.

How the heck do I install this new Start Relay? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That is not the correct relay. You're attempting to replace a solid state relay that uses a run capacitor with a mechanical relay.

It looks like that model could have used the mechanical relay on some and the solid state on others. That doesn't happen very often but can cause confusion.
